In society, women tended to be
known as weaker than men. Men are labeled as the stronger ones, they be looking
up to for they were known for being hardworking, which is assigned on doing the
harder works, and believed that women can’t. Women then were so limited in
their actions, they depend on men, they are conservative, so-called Maria
Clara.
In this vision of society,
discrimination against women is created. We are all influenced by gender,
gender norms tell us what is appropriate for boys and girls, women and men to
do in society. Because of this, girls and women are often less valued and have
lower social status. Women suffer the most of the negative impact of the gender
norms and roles, they are more likely to experience restrictions of their
freedom and mobility, have fewer opportunities to choose how to live their
lives.
As time goes by, the stereotype of
women was slowly breaking. Living in 20th century, where women as a leader,
women as the ones who are working, are normalized. Women can now do what men
do. Women have a lot of contribution to
the world. When more women work, economies grow. Throughout history, the
central role of women in society has ensured the stability, progress, and
long-term development of nations. More and more women in leadership positions
are pushing the boundaries of gender equality by utilizing their strengths and
leadership qualities, in skill, knowledge, experience, and emotion. They are
pursuing the things they want from their job and their career, not waiting for it
to come to them. The key is confidence in all your resources and abilities.
When
you stand for yourself as a woman, you stand for every woman. Women can lead,
women can serve, women are great. Using your voice to empower and sharing your
thoughts will have a chance on changing the world, if you believe in yourself
that you could, you can. And that voice can inspire everyone, which leads for everybody
to desire for the betterment of the world.

her mind and so programmed it for success”
