Women tended to be
underestimated, labeled as weak and fragile. That is just a belief that needs
to break. We are living in the 21st century, that things and beliefs shouldn’t
be normalized. Women were capable of doing things that men do. Guaranteeing the
rights of women and giving them opportunities to reach their full potential is
critical not only for attaining gender equality but also for meeting a wide
range of international development goals. Empowered women and girls contribute
to the health and productivity of their families, communities, and countries,
creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone.
National Women’s Month is an
annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to an event in
history and contemporary society. It is celebrated the whole month of March. It
is celebrated worldwide to spotlight women, their issues and achievements, and
has a different theme each year. It highlights women’s achievements, and
emerging women’s empowerment and gender equality concerns. It upholds women
accomplishment, recognizes challenges, and focus greater attention on women’s
right and gender equality. This celebration is a venue to discuss and address
the issues that women continue to face so empowerment can be fully achieved. It
calls for concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions towards gender equality.
All of us were equally made,
none is higher or lower. Respecting others is the key to having a better
society. It’s never hard to be a little kinder.
